About Us

In the early 1980’s, company founder, Ron Nelson found himself in the refrigeration business in Hibbing, Minnesota. He later sold Hibbing Refrigeration and moved to Mankato. In 1993, he started Mankato Refrigeration Systems, Inc. With the help of his wife and daughter, Mankato Refrigeration became a solid fixture in the area.

A fire in early 2010 forced Mankato Refrigeration out of its location on Patterson Avenue. Instead of rebuilding, Ron decided to retire. After more than 30 years in the refrigeration business, he has relocated to northern Minnesota. His daughter Tina bought the business and moved it to its current location at 104 Adams St, Mankato. She hopes to help the company continue to thrive.
